Brick Buddies is a LEGO® building class for children in grades K–6, held Mondays from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at the Refresh Bricks store, beginning November 2, 2026. Classes are led by an intervention specialist.

Please read this document carefully. By checking the waiver box when booking Brick Buddies online, you agree to these terms on behalf of yourself and your child(ren).

1. Assumption of Risk

I understand that Brick Buddies involves building with LEGO® bricks and similar small parts. Small parts can present a choking hazard, especially if placed in the mouth. Participation may also involve minor injuries such as pinches, scrapes, bumps, trips or falls, or stepping on bricks. I knowingly and voluntarily assume these and other risks, known and unknown, of my child's participation.

2. Release and Indemnity

To the fullest extent permitted by Ohio law, I release, waive and discharge Refresh Toys LLC, DBA Refresh Bricks, and its owners, employees, instructors, and volunteers from any and all claims, demands, or causes of action arising from my child's participation in Brick Buddies, except those caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct. I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Refresh Toys LLC, DBA Refresh Bricks, from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) brought by or on behalf of my child arising from such participation.

3. Medical Emergency Authorization

In a medical emergency, if I cannot be reached promptly, I authorize Refresh Toys LLC, DBA Refresh Bricks, and its staff to call 911 and to seek emergency medical treatment for my child. I accept responsibility for any resulting medical costs.

4. Allergies and Medical Information

I agree to disclose any allergies, medical conditions, medications, or other needs (including sensory, behavioral, or learning needs) that staff should know about to keep my child safe. I will update this information if it changes. Please share this information, along with an emergency contact, with the instructor at or before your child's first class.

5. Parent/Guardian Presence and Supervision (Not a Drop-Off Program)

Brick Buddies is not a drop-off program. Parents and guardians may not drop off their child and leave.

  • On-site for the full hour: A parent, guardian, or authorized adult listed below must stay either in the parking lot or in the Refresh Bricks building for the entire class hour, from check-in until the child is picked up.
  • Immediately reachable: That adult must be reachable immediately by phone throughout the class and able to come to the classroom right away if there is an issue.
  • I accept responsibility for my child before, during, and after class, and for remaining on-site and reachable during the class hour. Refresh Toys LLC, DBA Refresh Bricks, does not provide custodial or childcare supervision.
  • If staff cannot immediately reach a parent, guardian, or authorized adult, or no such adult is on-site, staff may end my child's participation for that session.
  • Children must be checked in at the start of class and picked up promptly at 7:00 PM, and will only be released to a parent/guardian or authorized adult; staff may ask for photo ID.
  • I will give staff a mobile phone number where the on-site adult can be reached during class, and the names of any other authorized adults.

6. Photo and Media Consent (Opt-In)

Photos or videos of my child will not be used unless I give Refresh Toys LLC, DBA Refresh Bricks, my permission in writing. If I opt in, images may be used on its website, social media, and promotional materials without compensation, and my child's full name will never be published.

7. Behavior Policy

Brick Buddies is a respectful, inclusive space. Children are expected to follow instructor directions, share materials, and treat others kindly. If a child's behavior repeatedly disrupts the class or creates a safety concern, staff will contact the parent/guardian and may require early pickup. Continued issues may result in removal from the program.

8. Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations made at least 24 hours before class receive a credit toward another Brick Buddies class.
  • Same-day cancellations are not refundable.
  • Each family is entitled to one free makeup class per month.

9. Governing Law and Severability

This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Ohio. If any part is found unenforceable, the remaining parts remain in full effect.

10. Acknowledgment

By checking the waiver box when booking Brick Buddies online, I confirm that I have read and agree to this Parent/Guardian Waiver and Release of Refresh Toys LLC, DBA Refresh Bricks, and that I am the parent or legal guardian of the child(ren) I am enrolling, with authority to agree on their behalf.
